Premier's Reading Challenge

What is the Premier's Reading Challenge?

"The NSW Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC) is an initiative of the NSW State Government. It aims to encourage in students a love of reading for leisure and pleasure and to enable them to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge to each student - to read, to read more and to read more widely."

- NSW Department of Education

Visit the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge website for information about dates, booklists, rules and more.

How do I participate in the Premier's Reading Challenge?

READ! You need to read 20 books by the closing date. A minimum of 10 books must be from the PRC booklist. Visit the PRC Booklist to view lists by author, title or category.

You can include any fiction that you have been reading for your school subjects this year as well!

Our library currently has over 300 books that are on the PRC booklist.

Students can access the Oliver library database by signing into their student portal. Click Reading Lists to see what’s available for this year’s challenge.
